Looking for a 22-24" monitor with a matte screen for about £200. Its really annoying that all the specs are given except for that! Is this matte: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-032-DE&groupid=17&catid=949&subcat= It says it is. Also it's E-IPS. Does that mean its 8-bit. Is there a 24" version? Thanks
2209WA is the monitor pretty much everyone recommends at the 22" size point . Do a quick search of this forum and you'll see numerous references as to why the 2209WA is a great monitor. And yes, it is 8bit. There is no direct 24" version, nearest you'll get is Dell U2410 which is more than double the cost.
Yes It says in the description: "With a non-glossy coating and impressive resolution, contrast, luminance and response times, the affordable Dell UltraSharp 2209WA delivers sharp, detailed images, saturated color and breathtaking multimedia performance."
The 24" IPS segment has almost no competition at the moment, only professional/photography grade monitors are present. So you can expect to pay a massive premium.
So this monitor is 8-bit? What does that actually MEAN for monitors? EDIT: Nevermind, found the answer in the FAQ. D'oh!
