I personally would get the Gelid as the fan is larger and 'should' run more effiently and quietly. I've fitted a few and they're very impressive coolers for the money.

However, as you have a Freezer 13 to hand you may as well test its performance. If it gives you a clock and temps you're happy with and with relative silence you could save yourself some cash...

Will you be overclocking at all? If you are then the Tranquillo would provide the best solution. However, if you are not then the freezer 13 will perform excellently under stock conditions.

how does the gelid compare to a Hyper 212+

Performance wise the Gelid is a more efficient cooler but the Hyper probably wins on the performance to price ratio.

I personally would still pick the Gelid (fitted both) as it performs, looks and feels like a quality cooler for your ~£25.

If money is tight though the Hyper would be an excellent choice - one of the best budget 3rd party coolers..
