Not really sure where to start monitor tech has moved on and I’m really far behind the curve.

I want something with an adaptive refresh rate to help smooth out my first person gaming. Currently running a 2070 Super, and I generally game at 1080p. CoD is taking up most of my time and typically I get about 125fps with everything on max at 1080p.

So where to start? I’m not worried about viewing angles etc, it’s just for me and just for games. Budget isn’t a huge issue but I don’t want to be throwing huge amounts unless there’s a significant reason for that. I’m not really sure on what an entry level 27” with gsync is these days?

Ta :)

With Nvidia having supported FreeSync for year and half G-Sync is for those wanting to pay tax for Nvidia to lock ball and chain into ankle for no doubt continued paying of brand overprices also in future.

2560x1440 144Hz VAs start from £280:

And for IPS starting price is £300:

If you like/prefer darkened room VA's the way highest contrast of LCDs gives best looking image.
But response times have challenging transitions.
IPS has more consistent response times, but contrast and black doesn't look good in darkened room. (would require FALD backlight)

Save up for the 27GL850-B if you're decided on 27". Can be had for £350-£400 over the last few weeks. The only 27" worth considering IMO, fantastic colours and response times.
