Prior to buying my laptop, I didn't think of the RAM differences and opted for the crucial 3200Mhz CL22 RAM as the Samsung CL22 was more expensive. It didn't cross my mind that the difference would be single rank on the crucial and dual rank on the Samsung.

What sort of performance loss would I likely be seeing and is it worth exploring an upgrade to some dual rank sticks?

I ended up buying some HyperX Impact CL20 3200Mhz. A good portion of the timings were similar to what I had on my 2x8GB sticks but the HyperX being dual rank and CL20 compared to the single rank CL22 of my old pair.

As a quick test with loading up a couple of games in the same areas along with the same settings, This is what I found (Measured using CapFrameX)

Battlefield 1
Old: FPS 117, AVG FPS 112, 1% low 78
New: FPS 144, AVG FPS 138, 1% low 92

Battlefield 4
Old: FPS 196, AVG FPS 178, 1% low 140
New: FPS 194, AVG FPS 181, 1% low 136

Apex Legends
Old: FPS 123, AVG FPS 126, 1% low 98
New: FPS 130, AVG FPS 132, 1% low 105

Warzone
Old: FPS 94, AVG FPS 97, 1% low 73
New: FPS 105, AVG FPS 101, 1% low 77

Obviously not hugely scientific testing and still to do some benchmark testing which I shall try and do shortly.

How's the testing going?

I've just ordered some Kingston HyperX Impact RAM for my laptop as well, it's the 2933MHz stuff as my Razer's BIOS won't allow any more at the moment.

I'm also going from the standard 16GB Single Rank to 32GB Dual Rank.

Well I only ended up really running one or two tests after that and don't think there was much to be had in benchmarks if any at all.
From what I've seen, The low FPS rarely dips as much as it did and seems more consistent. Some games did benefit from it.
I may re-run the benchmarks as I still have the first benchmarks I carried out saved somewhere.
