Not a massive change but hear me out.

I run 2x 23" Samsung screens iwth 2048x resolutions, now I can run all my games at that res and full detail (2xaa is all I need at that res) however there's one that bogs a little and it's iRacing, worst game for get frame lag!

    Will a jump from a 512MB 4870 to a 4890 1GB be noticeable, I'm guessing yes, a good 10-20%?

I can sell my 4870 for good money and pay a small amount on top for the 90.

The title is wrong, I meant 4890.

You will get a decent performance boost, but i have heard that iracing is pretty bad for lag.

If you can get one for cheap it's worth it, but i wouldn't guarantee it would resolve your problem.

I'm guilty of using the term lag (network latency) when in reality I meant a frame rate dip.

I cap it at 60 but in large amounts of traffic it can dip to 30 and that does feel 'nasty' especially for precision driving.
