Looking to get a second car for the missus, had it with the Ka . Now she's decided she wants something completely different, something like an E39 520i or similar. What other options are there for the budget (similar cars needed - lots of motorway miles to be covered, not really bothered about 0-60 performance or BHP). She'd be more happy with things like leather trim, AC, Cruise control, Climate Control etc etc Really want something that will give at least 30mpg and not break down constantly. Also, is it possible to get a decent example of the E39 for this budget ?
Possibility, though she's just had a bad experience with the Ford (Ka) and isnt really too hot on the idea of a Mondeo.
To be honest im not completely sure, im not one for the price of cars, i seen 520i and i just thought, meh ill suggest a 530d lol
For £5k, you should be able to get an e39 520i's - they'll be early (I.e. non-facelift) and likely high mileage. They are BIG cars though, it will be a bit of a shock from a Ford Ka.
If you don't want Ford, then for your money you'll probably be looking at something French. C5, 406, Laguna etc. You'd also get a Passat for that money
