Actually looking at the review and I’m surprised it doesn’t boost any higher than some other people’s experiences with their 6900’s on air.

Other than the temps being lower of course, which is always a bonus.

Worth £2K? Probably not unless it beat the opposition at everything and not just ACV.

It's because the 6900xt isn't really power or temp limited, amd was kind of locking power down anyway so we didn't know that it wasn't power until now - the RDNA2 silicon simply becomes unstable over 2700mhz and some cards became unstable slightly over or under 2.7ghz but that is where the silicon reaches its limit and something in the gpu gives in

who knows what the cause is, is it AMD's architecture or is this simply the absolute balls to the walls limit of TSMC's 7nm? who knows

What are you basing this of? Just curious.

Cause air cooled cards with 320w power draw are crashing at 2.7ghz and now we have toxxic water cooled cards at 450w power draw still crashing at 2.7ghz. Also you can look at the 3D Mark databases where people that have down soldered mods and used LN2 still can't do much with the clocks - from what I can see on the hall of fame, LN2 + Power mod = still crash at 2.7ghz

not seen any reports of the toxic model crashing, do you have any links of reports? Curious to read them?

The reviews posted above? they all say the card becomes unstable and crashes at 2.7ghz, the reviews start on page 2. And just so you're aware - we're talking about overclocking, the toxxic doesn't run at 2.7ghz out of the box, its around 2.4ghz out of the box

He said it was rock solid at 2696 and became unstable past 2.7, he also said the Trix boost had it at 2.6 with 1 button click Running at like 323watts. He also said it's the best 6900 period. Seems different to what you said.

Igor's 450w were transient peaks, average load under torture test was 320 odd watts.

Seems your statement is a bit skewed?

The card is limited to 320W. If you want to see it truly stretch it’s legs from all the other AIB air cooled 320W 6900 XTs you’ll need MPT. Come on guys it’s not rocket science. :p

It’s a fair point.

Debaeur did prove that the voltage scales with powerlimit, it could just be that 2700 is your lot on this silicon stepping or, something else is at play.

Seems like you’re just looking for an argument. He’s going by what was said in the review in this very thread!

It is the best 6900XT of that I’ve no doubt. Should be at that price.
wasnt actually was just trying to correct some of the wrong figures which then get passed around as facts, when they arnt even correct :D

nothing like stating the obvious :D it cant be power limited surely must be something else at play surely.... hahah sarcasm just in case it doesn't come through obviously not aimed at you
