1.4 volts via bios mod and pencil mod for extra 0.1 volts through memory. Arctic Cooling 5 rev. 3. Runs at 500/1200 when not benchmarking. Will run stably at 530/1250 (runs 5 mins of ati with no errors). 500/1200 - 8339 marks. 520/1250 - 8560 marks.

500/1200

Will post piccy or it running at 520/1250 when i run benchmark again

I'm on an XFX LED edition. Coolbits detects my optimal frequencies as 510/1.17, and I get 7755 in 3d05 with that. I'm on stock cooling and haven't the guts to try the bios volt mod yet.

I'm not sure I shouldn't be scoring a bit higher than that on 3d05 though. Maybe nearer 8000?

I just ran coolbits, and it said the optimal frequencies were 490/1.13, and I got 7870 with that, with temp max at 55C. That seems a little low, but tbh Im still setting up the rest of the system so well see what happens as we go on.

Also, I set the fan in riva tuner to 70% at max temp, so theres roo mfor improvment. Am I being a bit dumb running both coolbits and riva tuner? Whcih setting does the comp take as the real ones?

Yeh they are still in Beta (the 83.10's) Mine on coolbits detect optimal only goes up to 463/1070 :( All of you with 500+ core should easily be hitting 8.5k if im on 480/1.25!
They both are the real clock as rivatuner changes it in coolbits aswell

I tried the bios volt mod there, and it managed to reflash it no problem. However when I went into the control panel and set it to auto detect the new frequencies were lower than I got on the standard bios! It only detected 490 and 1.1 as opposed to 515/1.17 beforehand.

I tried running 3dmark05 to see how it went, and it never even made it through the tests. Massive screen corruption, blank screens fps down at 3 and 4.

I reset the computer and flashed the card back to it's old BIOS, and it redetects the higher frequencies again, and runs through 3dmark no bother. Phew!!

I'll have a bash with the 83.10's and see how they go.

Noob question now though, before installing the 83.10's whats the best way to go about uninstalling the driver? (Never actually done this before)

control panel > add remove progs > nvidia display > restart
then if possible dl driver cleaner and run that > install new drivers

CLUB3D 7800GT VIVO fitted with the zalman vf-700-cu cooler.

505 core and 1.22ghz auto detect and no artifacts at these speeds.

Card is totally unmodded and running the 81.89 drivers.

Stock bios has the 40 delta on it so the actual clock the core is running at is 545:D

mine has auto detected at 490/1180 on the o/c 7800GT.

Knocked it down a few notches to 471/1100 to initially test and seems fine. will crank it up to auto detect frequencies this week and see what happens.

Stock cooler on board.

At the 471/1100 level, playing COD2 for about 1 hours it still didn;t reach 45 degrees

XFX 7800GT EE (450/1050) auto-detects max @ 460/1070
Leadtek 7800GT (400/1000) auto-detects max @ 490/1190

I bought the "DangerDen Maze4 LowProfile GPU SLI KIT (1/2")", and then vmodded the cards to try and boost them up a bit and get the XFX ram to match the Leadtek.

Leadtek vmods:
leadtekvmods1ba.jpg

XFX vmods:
xfxvmods3tb.jpg

then added the waterblocks (top = Leadtek, bottom = XFX):
7800gtblocksresize1ck.jpg

(since taking that pic I've sorted the bendy bottom card and mopped up the puddle) :D

I took off the backplate that was part of the Leadtek's stock cooler and put it on the XFX to help with the memory cooling (it gets quite warm so it must be working). I also ended up taking most of the ramsinks off the top card (Leadtek) as the ram on that clocks quite well anyway.

After spilling water all over the cards and having a scare when I didn't get any video on bootup  , it's working fine now.

XFX: gpu @ 1.65v, ram @ 2.3v
Leadtek: gpu @ 1.6v, ram @ 2.2v

with this I was able to pass 3DMark2006 @ 550/1200 artifact free, and play various games for hours with no problems. I'm quite happy with that, as I expected a much lower ram clock due to the XFX being so crap in the clocking department.

pov 7800gt

504 - 1218 = 8503 in 05

The core will go to about 516 but artifacts in the 2nd test in 05, have not found highest mem yet had it up to 1230, all on stock cooler. The card will run 500-1200 no problems at all. How high has a 78gt unmodded, on air been
