A few iphone issues

Just bought myself a new iphone 3gs today and I have a couple of niggles.

The first one being than instead of autolocking my phone starts to play a screensaver highlighting it's main features.

Second, when I first opened my contact list I had for some reason 107 contacts already included. Most seemed to be affiliated to apple in some way..Had to delete all these manually.

This can't be normal?

Any insights greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a demo unit of some kind to me, I'd either take it back and ask for a replacement if you can be bothered, or do a factory reset...

Maybe destined to be a demo unit originally but just put into normal stock perhaps? If you're happy with it then a restore to default from itunes should sort it out just fine I'd imagine..

Who were the contacts?

You got a John/Johnny Appleseed on there?

If you have it's 100% a demo model, but if you bought it from Apple that won't have been done on purpose, they'll sort it out very quick. Have a whinge, get free stuff. Seriously.

He was more than likely on there. Bought it from Orange.

I would take a guess that it was indeed intended as a demo but possibly due to a mix-up or lack of stock, they decided to sell it.
