having had a similar discussion with a freind who is a locally well known and respected solicitor basically what he told me was that if the picture is taken in the public domain you hold the copyright and can do with it as you please bar editing it and publishing it in a manner that makes a person look guilty of a crime, indecent etc
******** i say if anyone hassels you tell em to go read up on the legal aspect
thankfully the only problem i ever encountered so far has been a man coming out of his house to quiz me what i was taking pictures of and he didnt seem keen on having his house taken. i kindly explained that houses look boring and that i had no dream of taking a picture of it
