damn, i was going to register animals.xxx
Looking at the registry's site it's not going to be open for signup, existing adult sites will be allowed one and other people will be allowed to register them to prevent .xxx versions of their domains.Calm down people.
It still isn't official.
It has been authorised once before until the Conservatives in the US decided to put a stop to it.
There are going to be som many rules and regulations.
Then add in a Sunrise period to allow current adult sites to get the same with .xxx and once more the best ones will be gone before most people can register.
that's the idea, that all adult sites must be on .xxx and that only adult sites will be on .xxxThis will only be a good idea if porn sites can ONLY use xxx domain. Otherwise it's just another domain for them to buy up and it will change nothing.
can anyone say why this is actually a good idea? (other than making porn easier to find)

I don't think it's a good thing though.
"It's been a long time coming,"
*snigger*
ICM Chairman Stuart Lawley said in a statement, adding that he is "excited" by the move.
Why is this possibly a good idea? What could it ever achieve apart from allowing people to hide their porn habit by claiming it can't be a porn site they've been on because it's not .xxx?
It'll be easier for parents to block access for their kids. Simply disallow anything with .xxx
