So as the title says, I have a query about activating Windows 10 on a new PC I am about to build.

I have already created a boot USB that I will plug into my PC upon set up. What I am wondering about is activating Windows after that.

My current PC has Windows 10 Home activated on it and when I go into the activation section of the System page on it, I'm told that my digital licence is linked to my Microsoft account.

Some context: I order a PC a number of years ago from PCSpecialists.com and they included a copy of Windows 8.1 preinstalled. At a later date I availed of the free upgrade to Windows 10. This is the PC I am looking to retire and transfer my activation from. There is also a Windows 8.1 product key located on the back side of this PCs tower. As far as I can tell there is noway for me to find my Windows 10 license key.

So, do I need to use this Windows 8.1 key at all? do I need to deactivate my current install of Windows 10 on the soon to be retired PC? Can I simply login at some point during the Windows installation process on my soon to be built PC and my account will allow for the license to be activated? Do I have a Windows 10 licnese key located somewhere on my PC that I have to find? And if so, how? Or am I completely off base and need to do something completely different?

And no, I was not given any Wondows 10 license or product key at any point as far as I can tell.

Any and all help will be welcomed and appreciated.
