Advice on cutting a hole in new sink

Waiting on a new kitchen sink from wickes it's tectonic material??

Anyway it I've seen people say ill need to use a 35mm hole saw any recommendations? Mate mentioned starrett hole saws.

I suppose I'll also need an arbor for the holesaw

Some use a 35mm bit but some sinks allow you to just get a punch and hammer the hole out. (it's marked with a sticker). Then you just file it smooth.

I'd like to chime in and help as I fitted my own sink but I don't really understand what it is your asking.
Does the sink not come pre drilled for taps or something?

I think it'll come with pre drilled holes and you can choose which side you want to drill depending on which side you want the sink.

Asking what people used as I've seen 35mm holesaws mentioned a lot and I don't want to get the wrong thing and ruin the sink when trying to drill through.

One of the reviews mentions there are no pre-drilled holes.

A step drill would probably work well for this.

It has no pre cut drilled holes which would have made it slightly easier.

Is there not a green dot on the top of the sink where a hole can be tapped out then filed. Underneath should be some part drilled 35mm holes to choose.

There looks like a small pilot hole either side.

Going to order these hopefully it'll give me no trouble

Just gotta decide whether to order clear silicone sanitary or just the general purpose. Think the sanitary has anti mould.

Just make sure to use some oil as lubricant and don't drill to fast but apply force on the drill to bite in.

I would use a thick piece of wood below it also while drilling.

Stainless is not the easiest to drill depending on the thickness.

A step drill will give a much neater finish.

I'd try a diamond 35mm hole saw from Screwfix. About the same price but will give a cleaner cut.

Get the sanitary silicone, general will be mouldy in no time in a kitchen, we use the no nonsense stuff daily and not had any problems with it
