hi guys, i recently bought a 32" 1080p tv, was connected to my pc and sky box, so bought an xbox 360 didnt like the controller and was disappointed with the graphics, so sold it and bought a ps3, deffo preffered the ps3 but i still prefer using keyboard and mouse and i was still expecting the graphics to be better.

my current pc is a few years old, its a intel e6750 skt 775, 2gb ram, nvidia 7800gt graphics card.

can someone please spec me something that will play games in hd better then a ps3 it doesnt have to be the best just better then a ps3

    cheers

you could just get a hd4890 or similar, upgrade to 4gb ram and a psu upgrade if you need to.

Thats the route I went. You could get a cheap 775 mobo and overclock your current CPU.

Welcome back to PC gaming btw:)

    +1

You CPU is powerful enough to run any games, As mentioned above maybe just a new video card, more ram and possibly new PSU.

Unless you have a nice budget to go for i7

i have an Abit IP35-E mother board which supports quad core

if i upgraded to a skt 775 quad core as said above would that be powerful enough to play any new game in HD?

Yep it would. But most games now are more gpu based than cpu based. So get a quad core, anotehr 2gb ram and get a good gfx card, then your off son. 4890's are good for the money. 5850 is good then overclock to 5870.
