Maybe I'm being dumb here, but how to I use the conversion engine to convert a load of videos on my computer?

I ask because with VisualHub getting older and older and still without a worthy replacement, I find that the AirVideo conversion does a great job and would like to use it as I would normally use VH to try it out.

I suppose I could fire up my iPad and tell it to convert but surely there is a way to prompt it to do so from the iMac?

Sometimes I would like the videos on the iPad thats all, 3G isn't always available around where I live...

Am I wrong in thinking that H264 videos (even if they are wrapped in .avi containers) should play on the iPad natively anyway?
