All folders on Windows Phone 10 showing as empty in Windows 10

    The title says it all really. The contents of all folders are not showing up when I look at the phone in Windows 10. I can see the folder structure in Explorer and there are desktop.ini files but the actual content is not shown. I have, of course, rebooted both phone and PC.

    Yes, I know Microsoft are abandoning phones but that's for another thread.

    Guess what? My phone updated itself to 1903 before the problem appeared.

    And now Windows isn't seeing the phone at all.

    It looks like my USB 3 hub is faulty: the phone now appears if I plug it into the USB 2 hub

    Oh yeah, I still love my Windows 10 Lumia XL and in fact still use it as a Satnav as it has dozens of favourites in it across 3 x countries that can't be transferred in bulk to anything else. But as a daily I moved over to Android a year ago.

    Those Microsoft Maps favourites will have to be re-created elsewhere manually one by one. But Google Maps is rubbish for saved places, so confusing. Labelled, saved, favourites, starred what a gigantic mess.
