i just got this email... The band seem legitimate, but i have never heard of them and i certainly havnt ordered any cd's. the adress and telephone number in the email are not mine. is this anything i should be worried about?
you or them? http://www.blackdykeband.co.uk/bdb/2003/contact/contmain.htm though i'm not sure whether the contact policy they have there concerns the shop email aswell..
no, nothing... which makes me think it may not be anything to worry about (but i'm still concerned nonetheless).
oops, i just assumed it was usa, sorry. still... would rather not have to chase this up in a phone box. may have to though...
Yeah, it's obviously going to be an American phone number with an address like this. On-Line Sales Black Dyke Band (1855) Ltd. BANDROOM Sandbeds QUEENSBURY Bradford BD13 1AB UK
Is your email address the sort where someone might have a similar one that they may have typed into the order form incorrectly? As far as I can tell the email addy is the only thing that ties this to you.
LOL has no body actually received these kind of emails before? It's a fake email (well, mine have been)... I've received emails from a handful of companies thanking me for my purchase and saying if I didn't order it, click here. Clicking here confirms my email address and I get bombarded with spam. I bet the ORDER STATUS link is the link they want you to click. Similarly, I had one last week from 'paypal' saying thank you for payment of this $400 phone. It said in big large letters, if you want to dispute this transaction click here. I didn't as closer inspection showed it was a random link with some affilliation number and the email headers weren't from paypal. Checking my paypal account, no transaction had taken place.
