any 1 help? accessing a harddrive!

    i took my onld master hard drive out of my old system, put it in the new 1 but i cant access any of the documents! it says they are not accesible? how do i access them??

    How have you got the drive set-up and exactly what does it say when you try to access the drive? Is it recognised in bios or Windows at all? If you haven't already I'd set-up the drive to be a slave to the primary drive and try again.

    If Access is Denied message, try Microsoft's KB810881.

    i can access the drive.. but i cant acess the file "my documents" thats on that drive. thats where all my things are stored.

    the drives set up as a slave, it used to be a master on a different PC

    Look at this. You need to assume ownership of the folder.
