Anyone been to Bruges is it worth a few nights trip ?

yes, although it's rather small to spend a few nights there.
belgium's tiny, so do brussels on your way in/out

and antwerp's nice too, certainly better for shopping for that's your thing

A few nights, nothing more. It's quite a pretty place, lovely old buildings and whatnot. It's quick to get to via Eurostar as well.

Yes I was thinking of going on Eurostar but it would take a while to get there. 2½ hrs to London + Underground. What's there to do in Antwerp ?

It's incredibly expensive, especially with the rubbish exchange rate. Expect to pay €7 for a freshly squeezed orange juice!

Hey Stephen,

I've been living and working in Brussels the last year, its a @*!£hole! And Im not kidding, to think this is the centre of "Europa", heaven help us!

Thankfully other cities in Belgium, and the rest of it in general, is not like Brussels, I was relieved to find this out myself.

Bruges is lovely, very very pretty, a nice place to walk around, do the canal boat tour thing, go for a lovely meal etc etc. As is Ghent, very nice too, not as touristy as Bruges. Antwerp is also nice, better for shopping in my opinion than Brussels.
