When you have all the gadgets, entertainment and things you're interested in, what's left to spend extra money on?

I tend to research and get the best bits for a given budget and now feel like i've got everything i want, so i upgraded some old stuff which i would have still used, im not the sort to get the latest when something does the job and i don't buy junk i don't need, so i guess it's best to just save from now on. :p

Im kinda at the stage where I still want things, but i put off buying them for so long, I forget i wanted them in the first place or i find, im happy with what i already have. a good example for me is my phone, i wanted to upgrade my s2 to an s4 before it was even released, but ive still not done so, and im proberly unlikely to as my s2 still does everything i want my phone to do.

No, this never happens, so many things to buy and do, not enough money.

I know you say you dont but does sound like you're just buying for the sake of it, rather than stuff you'll actually use and starting to realise its pointless unless you need it. And just uppgrading computers and stuff isnt always needed.

There's always stuff to buy, kiting out the garage, several hobbies etc. and if it runs out theres new hobbies, traveling.
Lots of things i jeed to take my walking further, need camping gear, new rucksack etc

Would love to learn to scuba and buy the equipment
Would love to learn to paraglide and buy the equipment
Would love to kit out garage with cnc machines, laythes, drills etc.
Would love a multicopypter with video.
Let alone things like upgrade phone and tablet.

Then expensive stuff like
House, forrest, farm, rocket flight.

And of course travel the entire world

The trouble with this is you can end up getting into something new and buying the gear only to lose interest after a while, letting money and gear go to waste unused, unless you sell of course but many don't bother to, obviously everyone's idea of value are different but i don't think there's as many really worthwhile things to spend money on after you got the main stuff, you're getting into rarely used and niche things by then or simply extras and diminishing returns.

Is this thread title the ultimate in the first world problem vein?
No, we've been giving the perpetually useless "Third World" $140 Billion every year for ages now, so there's nothing they could possibly want for either.

I mean, they've all got AK47's!
...I haven't got an AK47 :(

if you dont, youll never find new hobbies and as you say you can sell stuff you dont use. Although i wouldnt go straight out and buy the gear anyway i would do the trianing and make sure i enjy it first.

If I had unlimited funds I'd buy Glaucus a new phone/tablet/keyboard or whatever it is that causes him to type stuff like enjy and miss out apostrophise.

See, little things like that would keep me in the buying mood forever :D

This.

Too much stuff to buy/things to do, not enough money/time :D

I always think that if I won the lottery (talking a BIG win here, 10m+) I'd never be bored, the list of stuff I'd do/buy would be endless :D

Build a stonking house with a garage the size of a small country, then fill that garage with cars, bikes. I'm talking Jay leno size car collection here :D

Buy a house down in cornwall, start surfing and wndsurfing again. Spend summer weekends there.
Home cinema room/big vinyl collection, headphones, the works.
Start mountain biking again, go to the alps in summer for a few weeks.
Buy lots of photography gear, do that a lot and try and sell some prints
Restore/modify cars bought for above car collection.
Drive cars in car collection.
Go to every F1 race in the calanedar, and Le Mans, IOM TT, regular visits to the nurburgring.
Do a motorbike tour from the north of Europe (nordkapp) to the south (Gibraltar) + several other US and european tours.

The list goes on... :D that's before general travelling and seeing the world :D

You don't get happiness through consistently buying things. You get it through buying the right things and using them to their full potential.

To think you'll get happiness through constantly buying stuff is like thinking you will be emotionally content always watching porn.
