As 2008 nears to a close, I feel that we should have a round-up of the hi's and lo's of your personal 2008 motoring career. For me:

Hi's:
  1. Getting my car back after having a turbo engine fitted in the new year - I had the biggest grin on my face!
  2. Vauxhall VXR Trackday @ Thruxton

Lo's:
  1. Clipping the garage door whilst parking and leaving a nice 6" graze on my drivers wing :o
  2. Bonnet of the wife's Civic got keyed whilst parked on our driveway
  3. Wife destroying the O/S wing mirror of her Civic by parking too close to a tree

What are your highlights and lowest moments? :D

Hi's:
  • First half of trackday @ Donington...
  • Buying a cheap 325i and having sideways fun
  • Getting the Leon back on the road
Lo's:
  • Second half of trackday @ Donington... Knackered engine
  • Having my leon off the road for 4 months whilst sourcing replacement engine
  • Having the gearbox smashed into by the driveshaft, thus taking the leon off the road again.
Expensive year :(

Hi's:

  • Managing to hold the Corvette in a massive high angle drift, really was exceptionally happy with that.
  • Successfully doing the headgasket on my Sprint, restoring it to life; along with all the other odd bits I'm doing to it.
  • Wrangling the E30 off eBay after all those shenanigans, which so far is standing me in excellent stead as a daily. I'd have been screwed if I hadn't got it, at that point.
  • Completing the day-long journey and 650 mile return journey to pick up the little 1500 FWD. What a hike and what a neat little machine!

Lo's:

  • Having the transmission fall out of the '88 Corvette. That was a pain, although easily remedied. Still, it got me (coasted) to where I needed to be (the meeting point for compiling and handing our group dissertation in, phew!).
  • There are a few cars I regret not buying, which would have served me and my finances very well. Must 'man up' a bit more sometimes and get on with it!

That's about it :)
