    Hi all.

Would I see a major improvement switching to an XFX 790i motherboard over my Asus 780i??

In fact what would the advantages be?

    Thanks

faster and lower voltage ram. you probably will have better benchmarks, but the different in real life performance is minimal.

You really won't see much of a difference, not recommended considering the price. Personally, i would do this:

    Sell 780i + GTX 275s,

Buy a P45 (where you can reuse your current RAM) or X48 (you will need new DDR3 RAM, but crossfire scales better on this board).

    Buy a 5850 (or two)

Overclock your CPU even higher (these boards are much better for overclocking quads).
