Hi guys, I've started with a new build the other day and one of the issues I have run into is mounting my motherboard into a Corsair 750D

It appears the fixed stand off locations which I screw the board into are not playing nice with the armor that Asus put onto this board, I have taken the armor off the back of the motherboard and the board fits fine and screws down as it should, question is will removing this armor affect my temps as I noticed when I removed it there was some thermal pads on the back, they are directly under where the water block feature is for this motherboard, as I am watercooling the board Im hoping this wont mater but not entirley sure what those pads are meant to be cooling, ? If needs be I can pick up some more thermal tape and heatsinks.

Could anyone shed any light for me

Thanks

Hi HomZ,

It should be fine, the thermal pads are to aid cooling they're in no way critical to cooling the motherboard. The rear fortifier also provides extra rigidity, but again isn't necessary.
