I've had my MX1000 and my Icemat for a while now, and I've had hell getting it to glide smoothly. The Icemat glider things were useless, as was using selotape.

I was using my PC when I noticed some bubblewrap in the bin. I selotaped some onto the four legs of the mouse, and it was smooth - but far too high and thus the mouse couldn't detect any movement. I then burst the bubbles and it works fantastic. It has been like that for 2 weeks now and glides REALLY well with no horrible scraping noises!

Just thought I should share :D

Just remember to put the bubbles directly over the feet of the mouse. I think that when the bubble is burst it leaves an area of compressed plastic, and this is what keeps the mouse gliding.
