Hi guys. My mate has been asking me to have a look at his old PC for ages and I thought it would have just needed a format or something, but everytime I start the PC up, it goes past the boot screen and then just sticks on a screen that says 'ATAPI Incompatible'. What's causing this error? I assume it's something to do with his HDD? Everything is IDE in his PC, HDD/Floppy etc. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers
I've managed to get it booting fine now, but when I put a CD in to one of his drives, it doesn't seem to load the disk, if I click into my computer, the my computer window will just freeze. Maybe I need to sort master/slave out in the Bios?
I forgot to mention that I put him a new DVD-RW drive in. I better check the jumper settings on back. Forgot about that!
