    By the looks of it, it's just some sort of open-source drivers that help make the software-hardware interface more efficient.

    Kinda boring if you ask me...

    "Gallium3D" makes it sound like some kind of stereoscopic / 3Dvision-esque kind of thing.

    Sounds like it's on a collision course with Khronos - OpenGL/CL - basically the same but with a couple of added features.

    Think it just boils down to linux having full support for R300 to R500 cards using this driver. Which is probably a good thing, depending on quality / if fully featured. :)
