Avatar Question

Just a quick Q, how do I change my avatar? I'm still getting used to the new layout and all the options after having a year or two break from the forums. I did search but couldn't find anything relevant, I've looked through all the options on the user CP as well so I must be going blind! TIA.

IIRC the avatars are auto assigned based on title. Not sure though I disabled them years ago.

As uber said, they are based on title, so can't be changed.

Never quite understood the gangster theme for a computer forum, I'd at least like to be Escobar though given the choice.

It's from some in-joke many moons ago, the story of which seems quite variable.
It's kind-of annoying, TBH, as I've always preferred chucking my own avatar on forums. Here everyone just looks the same...

But I believe there have been several polls about whether they're relevant today and whether people wanted to do away with 'em... They're still here.

Yep, certainly used to be able to change it, but only to the rank of your post count.

When the forum ran on ages old VB you could pick any avatar that you'd "unlocked" by reaching the required post count.

With the new forum you are assigned the avatar for your post count and are not allowed to change it, even within the ones you have "unlocked".
