AVI video file - no codacs

i've downloaded a video file, it's extension is AVI and yet none of my players have codacs for neither the audio nor the video...

I have DIVX, ac3 but i don't seem to have the ones for this.

Anyone have any ideas what the codac could be?

Codec.

To find the codec used on the specific video file, use GSpot.
To play it, and almost every single other type of video file out there, get FFDShow.

Google VLC its free and will play just about everything you throw at it

I've found the KLite Codec Pack absolutely brilliant. VLC is also worth having.
