HAHAHA I lol'ed
I think the fastest I've ever done was probably 115mph in my old golf
130mph in a 118 on the A30
As a passenger 160ish
XKR was limited to 155....
Fastest I've driven in the UK is 135 MPH, fastest in Germany is 155 MPH.
about 110 i guess but as a passenger more - the day my dad picked up a jag sovereign in the 80s, which did 136 according to the spec he checked to make sure it was true
120 in my car, 130 on my bike. Amazingly, no-one was killed.
155mph indicated, in the 620ti. Probably about 145 in reality, surprised it didn't start shedding parts!
After comparisons with the bikes in this thread, this is kind of embarrassing. However, two efforts last night to hit the rev-limiter on the way home from work. edit: first video evidence in this thread (less motorbikes).
My 2007 Mercury Milan 4-door family car.
The entrance ramp to the freeway. Sorry I had to move the camera - mobile camera didn't like the contrast difference between the outside and the dash.
I forgot to move back after the end of the ramp - got distracted by merging into traffic.
First attempt to hit rev limiter:
Second attempt. Traffic just wouldn't allow it.
Confirmed as indictated with GPS. Next time I'll just keep it in the viewscreen and get them both at the same time.
I miss my Taurus SHO.
Indicated 80 is as far as i risked D:
Genuinely don't know. I was in a 1l D Reg Micra and I think the pin on the speedo stopped the needle going over 110.
Daft with hindsignt and I'm not proud. A mate phoned me to tell me that he'd booked cinema tickets 2 hours earlier than I was expecting in Sheffield. I was in London. Missed the trailers and maybe the first 5 minutes of the movie.
110? around than in a golf mk2 gti.. not me driving as a passenger.. me driving 60 ;D but it was on a closed road not even covered in asphalt so really not worth risking..
I once got to 60, took 3 days to get there though!
Just curious, what is the max motorway speed over there? In Eastern US it's 70, further out west it goes up to 75 and at a few stretches 80. I'm told there are some roads in Montana that don't have a speed limit, though going over 50 on them would be suicide.
I don't see anything wrong with it as long as the car is built for it. 85 MPH in my '83 Escort would have been stupid, and the missus' '90 Cavalier could only hit 90 on a good downhill. But the Milan was stable and sure at that speed no problem.
160mph on the back of a mate ZX6R, scarily fast especially 2 up, and very idiotic and would never again.
115mph indicated on a Yamaha TZR125 borrowed from the mate I sold it to after not finding time to complete the project
174 on my '05 636 ninja......only to be overtaken by an old model (94?) astra saloon with flames coming from it's exhaust. I was quite embarrased, it's the fastest speed i've been at and I got overtaken by a biscuit tin.
155 in the 330i, no point in trying in the 335i as it'll be the same!
Bit stupid of my mate seeing as he still on his two year restriction though
Just because of the insane difference, I'm starting to think bikes don't count.
135 and it wont go any faster, that was downhill with a tailwind
edit: when i plowed into those children crossing the road i think i got at least 5 of them, thats what 10points each right!?
