How much do bananas cost over per kilo there and what country do you get them imported from?

Down here they are grown in Australia around Queensland but the banana plantations got hit by a cyclone or two and most are destroyed so we are paying $15AUD a kilo (6 pounds in your money)

Im curious what you lot pay for them ATM :)

I paid £1.19 kg^-1 today, this was in some rip-off corner shop though, I normally pay about £0.90 kg^-1.

Chiquita and Fyffes are the main producers/distributors - difficult to say country of origin as they both grown in a few places - especially Chiquita who grow worldwide.
