I can confirm Windows 8 is not stuttering like Windows 7 for BF4 beta

I installed Win7 2 days ago.. and Win8 yesterday with the sole purpose of playing the battlefield 4 beta.. Windows 7 was awful.. Windows 8 plays nice and smooth like BF3.

I'm going to do a Windows 8 install tomorrow for the lol's :D

Any chance of the OP being edited to keep tabs on the tips and fixes?

High CPU usage + Low GPU Usage - Increase supersampling

"Raw input" seems to add input lag

Windows 8 appears to offer better performance than Windows 7

Nvidia BETA Drivers made quite a difference for me (and a few other people) - Not sure about AMD drivers; Can anybody confirm or deny a difference?

yup, for me windows 7 + 13.10 betas have helped improve things.

also, had problems trying to get the game to load was just stuck on loading screen, in the other thread DG mentioned PunkBuster update, did that and it sorted it, so any games issues might be worth running a pb check.

i5 4670K @4.4
Win 7 64 bit
GTX 780 WF3X
8GB RAM

LOW settings

Averaging frames of 60-70 (although It doesn't look like it). Maybe it's because i'm used to 150+. It drops to 30-40 fairly regularly depending on how much is going on around me. It also occasionally drops to sub 10 :O (some form of throttling?)

Noticed my CPU seems to be constantly maxed out while playing.

Running on the auto Ultra with some High thrown in, motion blur off + vysnc on. Haven't noticed a single drop below 60 FPS yet which I'm very happy with...might try some custom settings later but for now I'll stick with auto

Specs:

2500K @ 4.4ghz
8GB Ram
680 GTX EVGA - Tried the beta ones but were bad on 320.49 and much better
Win 7 x64

It was real bad yesterday with the beta drivers but upon switching it's playable now. Currently playing with preset option of High.

Getting between 40-60 on high with drops sometimes into the 20's and loads of stuttering at times. It'll be fine one second stutter and drop to 20 then instantly go back to 60 and other times stutter for anything up to 5-10 seconds.

Similar spec :
2600k @ 4.8
16gb ram
EVGA 680 - drivers before new beta (dont remember number)
Win 8 64

Perfectly smooth gameplay on ultra pretty much maxed out, getting 60+ fps. No slowdowns or tearing etc. Didn't even realise there was an issue till finding this thread.

Only had a quick try last night

2x 2gb 6950's
i52500K
8gb ram

I first tried it on whatever drivers i had (maybe 2 months old) and my frames werent great, not like unplayable, but certainly noticable

So i installed the latest amd beta drivers and it runs loads better

At 1080p and whatever settings it chose for me it was a mixture of high and ultra and i had fov at 90 and it wasnt bad at all

I will check actual fps and settings tonight

CPU: i7 4770k @4.5ghz
GPU: gtx 670 wf x3 sli @stock
RAM: 8gb samsung green @2133mhz, 9-10-10-21 1T cmd rate
OS: win 7 64 hp
Drivers: 331.40 beta's

Running very nicely, averaging 70fps on ultra x4 msaa @1920x1200.
Cpu use of 65% max, 65c on cpu. Gpu's at 71 and 55c.

The only issues ive had were getting stuck on the loading screen and loss of audio briefly. Updating punkbuster solved theese. And off course the usual server disconnects, but being a dice game theese are pretty common.

he has close to my spec, seems a logical choice to try them out!

I was an improvement.

My guess is the CPU - game doesn't seem to like it when you have less than 8 execution units whether real cores or HT - atleast on my laptop the game goes from fairly smooth with HT on to a stuttery mess with it off.

I'm a little confused by this? Most people with i5 processors will be running with 4 units?
