Yup Horizon has turned quite unscientific in the last 2 seasons.

I also preferred it when it always built up to a big twist about 3/4 through :p

Goes back a lot further than that - it dates from the time about five years ago when they started making everything as co-productions with the Discovery Channel. Since DC wouldn't know a good documentary if it bit their head off, that was end. It's a good working rule that ANY documentary co-produced with the DC is rubbish.

I was honestly offended at the quality of a recent episode about fire prevention in skyscrapers. It was 50% sales pitch for a new system a professor at Edinburgh Uni had come up with for preventing fires but then degenerated into yet another September 11th tribute.

Utter tosh, it was as if they'd run out of interesting footage after 20 minutes and just rehashed some old news footage with professional interviewees recounting their experiences (again)

And don't get me started on BBC Focus magazine, before it had the BBC moniker it was a decent magazine, now it just panders to the masses.
