that just means you will be replacing it in a year or so. The cheap ones are fine, its just that they dont last and dont hold heat aswell due to thinner guage metal etc etc.

The metal thickness is a good point, this one will undoubtedly be made from thin sheet steel. Our little one has lasted for 5 years so time will tell

I've just bought a £50 Argos special!

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/5981887?clickSR=slp:term:bbq:1:50:1

Now I'll just have to wait and see how she performs.

It'll work fine mate :) just the longevity is all

But it's not a Weber..

I think the big differences between the cheaper ones and the Webers are the metal gauge and paint.
The weber ones have an almost enamelled look and feel to then (I thought they were but now not 100% sure after a quick google haha)

If Lidl/Aldi do a cheapy kettle this year have a neb at them in store, if the paint quality looks decent (and not a matt finish) I'd be happy to use one of them.
The garden type stuff they do always has good warranties as well 2/3 year

The cheaper versions are good. https://www.cyprusbbq.co.uk/

I have the exact same Souvlaki machine from that site (the blue one on the left) only difference being I bought mine from a guy in Limassol in Cyprus before I moved back to the UK. I paid 100 euros for mine but I also got a coal funnel / meat tongs / speed-variable motor and racks for pitta breads included. Pork shoulder prices here in the UK are extortionate compared to those in Cyprus which is why we haven't used it as much.

Will definitely be getting some more use out of it this year though.
