Not for gaming, video or photographic work, just office work, including getting 3-4 web browser windows open on screen at once. Cheapish but reliable, and with viewing angles that aren’t compromised if you move your head a few inches from centre.

This would be my pick. Here is a review.

If your budget can't reach this then I suggest taking the small downgrade to 22in a get this excellent monitor.
The 24 is too expensive. The 22 is more on budget, but it's a 22, I want a 24. Thanks anyway :)

Has to be this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-033-BQ&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat= just taken delivery of mine a few hours ago and I'm impressed ;)
I want 1200 (16.10) not 1080 (16.9) ;)

Truly affordable 16:10 24” monitors no longer exist.

The cheapest option is probably going to be HP ZR24w suggested above.

If not you’re stuck with a 16:9 display, or the second-hand market.

Thanks for the advice guys. This 27.5" might be a solution. Never thought to look at a bigger screen, presumed they'd be megabucks, but that's much cheaper than the HP.
