I recently bought a system second hand, but now the graphic card seems to have died and seems it only had a 1 year warrenty (OCUK Radeon 4890)!

My specs are as follows Intel Quad GO 6600 (not overclocked it yet but previous seller got it up to 3.8ghz), Asus Maximus Formula II, Corsair pc6400 2 x 2gb.

Any suggestions for best card for this setup?

i will give it a try.
    what resolution is your monitor?
    i have a Q6600 @ 3.4GHz with a HD5850 and a 22" 1680 x 1050 monitor and i am happy with my gaming.
i can run my games mostly on highest settings.

Imo, try getting a HD5870 or a gtx470 depending on budget
or used HD5850's go for around £70ish now or new @ OCUK for about £105 (when they are on offer)

    5850 would be good with a q6600

Q6600 here at 3.4 with an overclocked 480, no problems here, smooth frames with healthy minimum and average fps.

I'm currently using an 6950 (unlocked/oced to 6970) with my Q6600 3.1GHz. I'm am about to CrossfireX it as well with an other one.

CPU will bottleneck, but it's ok for one.
