Any gurus or sparkies that can give me a little advice on the best way to rejoin a underfloor heating cable that's a single core resistance type?

I've read somewhere about sticking a small length of normal copper core cable where the join is just as a cool section of cable where the joints would be.

I was thinking of using some sort of insulated crimp and then heat shrinking over that?

Sam.
