the day before my birthday very happy with it so far,
looking for a longer lens now, would like the 10 - 20 zoom but going for £250 second hand while a 70 210 is less than £100

10-20 is shorter than the 18-55mm
The 70-210 is an ok lens, I know someone who recently got one, they are very happy with it.

having fun with it, brought a sigma 70 210 apo on ebay as sharp as the kit lens
trying out nikon capture atm dissapointed you cannot use as motion sensor to fire the shutter.

Go for the D50, its a very good camera. Most reviewers say its comparable to the D70 apart from a few features that you only use when you have progressed a long way as a photographer.
