I do want this game, the masses of guns makes it so intriguing... But I have a horrible feeling it's going to be rubbish.

I have this horrible feeling this well just be akin to Killing Floor? ie: Which just seemed to get dull very quickly.

Hopefully I'll be wrong, especially as I'm pre-ordering it

Definatally looks good. It does seem to be very much like Hellgate London, im not sure if that bodes well. Personally i loved HG:L, but apparently not enough people felt the same way.

Kinda wasted good money on HG:L as the servers went down. Anyone know if Borderlands online aspect is driven the same was as HG:L? Could they be shut down if no one plays?

Isn't the multiplayer just peer to peer or are dedicated servers available? I never played Hellgate so I'm unaware of what problems people encountered. Will the PC version use GFWL as it seems to be developed around xbox live looking at the video above?

i think as it;s only 4 player it will probably be peer to peer.

The PC version may use GWL but i don't think it's integral to the game as they are releasing it on steam etc.

It's mostly co op but you can "duel" with friends if you both agree (both melee each other)

i was wondering if there'd be online deathmatches where you could choose from game characters? kinda like quake arena....

no, just one on one duels initiated by thumping the other player.

Hmmm... That actually didn't impress me much... Guess it was just where they were in the game at the time though, so not a true reflection of the diverse nature of gameplay/enemies you would get...

according to the vid above you can all fight each other (4 man death match i presume) in the arena.

That video was definitely on the 360. The twitchy aiming (that also blatantly had auto aim on) and the "Press X" messages gave it away for me.

Like the Diablo thing. Massive loot drops from mobs, mass mobs, small player groups (4 with Borderlands).
The games are about killing lots of stuff and getting better loot. Its a loot game.

But it just sort of felt like Killing Floor... Dumb enemies just coming at you...

Hopefully other gameplay adds more depth...
