So as you can see from my Signature i have the below system although today i stumbled upon a GTX 1080 TI Strix OC edition for 400 pounds brand new in box and was to good a deal to say no to i was originally saving up 500 ish for a RTX 2070 and then upgrading to a Ryzen 4000 series CPU next year.

what sort of FPS bottleneck would i see with my current CPU its stock atm on stock cooler but id happily push it up to 3.6/3.7 if need be?

1700 is primarily an overclockers CPU, but wouldn't be too worried about it personally.

From what I've heard you'll get a small bottleneck with a 1700, but it'll be significantly reduced if you managed a stable 4GHz. It should still be a good experience for gaming and will be really strong at producitvity stuff which can utilize the cores.

1700 won't bottleneck you at 3440x1440

**edit I have just seen you are 2560x1080, clock the CPU as much as you can and make sure your ram is 3200/lowest timings stable.
