I now see a BTFON and a BTOpenzone-H network available via WiFi. Never noticed them there before. They are both open and unsecured. They aren't coming from my own personal router are they because that could mean anyone in the nearby area can connect to it and slow down my connection? I have a feeling it's to do with my BT Infinity installation yesterday and when I look at my WiFi scanner, it operates on the same channel and has the same signal as my HH3...

Depending on your settings it likely is coming from your HH3, though I've read that it uses different hardware/frequencies, thus shouldn't slow down your own connection.

My WAN IP changed last night, no idea why. I don't see any evidence of a d/c.

I think the modem had a funny moment, it didn't power cycle though as the uptime is 75 days +. I can't seem to fathom out logs on the modem, or even if they're turned on. I'm quite happy that the http://www.no-ip.com/ records updated automatically though, I've not managed to get round to testing that function of the RT-N56U.

TL;DR cool story bro.

Sharingan_sasuk: You can opt out of BTFON, BUT it is on by default.

You can do it online, https://www.bt.com/wifi/secure/index.do?s_cid=con_FURL_btfon
They also have a 24hr helpline BTOpenzone helpdesk, 0800 022 3322.

Cheers. I've opted out. I assume this means I can't use other people's BTFON networks anymore when I'm out and about?

That I'm not bothered about, but what about the usual BTOpenzone? I'm still entitled to that right? Like say in public places like McDonalds and Starbucks.

VDSL2 connections can drop. My WAN uptime ranges from 15 days to a couple of months.

Hi guys,

We've recently registered to have Infinity 2 installed at our flat (getting done on Monday), we're moving from ASDSL24 Be.

I think I remember reading somewhere, that some people have been updating the Home Hub 3.0 router's firmware to custom firmware? I can't find the thread anymore though...

What extra benefits do I gain for updating the hub to custom firmware? If anyone could link me to more info on this, and the firmware files, that'd be great :3

Thanks
