Buying a Wii on launch day

Rather foolishly I have neglected to preorder a wii - does anyone know of anywhere I can try to get one? The local specialists have closed their preorder lists

Your best bet is just to try going round a few of the high street stores on launch day as early as you can.

I recommend going to shops that aren't primarily for selling games like supermarkets and stationary type shops.

If it's anything like the 360 last year then I suspect quite a few web sites/forums will spring up informing people of when and where the WII's come into stock.

You may want to edit out the names of the companies since now OCUK sells 360s they are both competitors.

Er the 24hr supermarkets will have them by the drove.

Have also heard that Video Rental chains aren't taking pre-orders and will have a good stock

Listening to a woman in a shop yesterday asking about pre ordering one, but they arn't taking any more pre orders.

But I did pop into another shop yesterday, and they had a display, saying "pre order you Wii for December 8th now!"

I've spent the last half an hour phoning pretty much anywhere that i can think of - the best bet looks like a local supermarket, who seem to think that they will be getting them in, and aren't taking pre-orders.

Time to get the tent out
