Hi, im currently in america on holiday and the consoles are so cheap...
if i buy a nintendo wii over here in america, will it work in the UK and if i buy games in the uk will they work on the console???

your thoughts would be very welcome...

Pretty sure that Wii games are region locked as standard, so you wouldn't be able to play PAL games on an NTSC machine.

Id still be tempted to get it if it cheaper, also America gets the games earlier than us in the uk so you could import the games from the states before your mates even see it in the shops over hear.

Take Super Mario Papa as a case in point.

One thing, depending on what else you may buy, don't forget that duties may be payable on any excess above your duty free allowance when returning to the UK.

The chances are slim that you will be pulled over, but it does occasionally happen, so factor that in, just in case.

Probably, but I would have thought that needing a convertor would be taken as a given for anyone buying US equipment, hence it's not been mentioned.
