Cambridge audio A1 feedback

I have a friend selling the Cambridge audio A1 mk3 Special Editon amplifier. He's only asking for £30 and seeing as I could do with an amp instead of my Kenwood KR-V5090 surround sound receiver as I only have a stereo setup.

The amp will be used for listening to music and films, does anyone have any feedback on this amp.

been using an A1 on my PC for a good while now, paired with a paid of Gale mini monitors.

So much better than all of the PC speakers I've used and goddamn they go loud

Not really got much to compare it to tbh my first venture into real hifi gear, albeit cheap

Not great and doesn't drive very much, but for the money it sounds OK and would be a decent first foray into separates

Its a fine amp for the money, but basic and seems lacks bass, but as jellybeard says its a beginners amp.
