Can I convert this line to ethernet?

I just moved into a new property. It has an ethernet connection in the wall upstairs, but no ethernet connection in the walls anywhere downstairs. So I was wondering, can I convert this line to an ethernet one? Please see the links attached for the pictures. I couldn't imbed the pictures somehow. Any help is much appreciated.

You can't officially, that's not a certified cable to run a network over. If you're very lucky you may be able to get 100Mbps out of two pairs, but it depends on the condition of the installation.

That cable looks odd to me. It looks like it has 3 pairs. If you strip it back is there a 4th pair still inside the sheath?

It could also be very specialist cable to match a 6-pin RJ12 connector, but you might be VERY lucky and find a 4th pair in there. In which case, yes. 1GbE is possible.

I looked inside and it looks like only 3 pairs, but there is a separate white cable with one more pair. I'll go check the ethernet cable upstairs because that has to go somewhere I assume

Edit: I checked upstairs is a normal CAT5

Okay, thanks. In that case I probably need to pull a new cable or do some more searching for the other end of that CAT5 cable upstairs
