Can I test car speakers on my stereo amp?

Hi,
I have some car speakers that I need to test to make sure they are all ok.
Is it ok to test them by connecting them to my Cambridge Audio 340ASE?

Thanks for any help, I don't want to blow either piece of equipment up!

If you're checking to see if they work rather than how loud they'll go then as long as they are between 4 Ohm and 16 Ohm then yes. If they are 4 Ohm then just make sure you start with the volume at zero and don't wind the level up too high.
