Was I the only one expecting Purple Aki?

You know, when I was a kid the rumour around here was that if you went onto the nearby farmer's fields after dark, you'd be caught and bummed by Purple Aki. However, as I grew older I dismissed Purple Aki as just another fairytale figure, akin to Santa, the Tooth Fairy and so forth. Imagine the horror when I saw him on the news a few years ago being sentenced.
