    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience hiring a car and driving over into Canada?

I've had a quote from Hertz, but not much luck anywhere else. Does anyone know of any US firms that might be better?

I cannot imagine any rental company will let you do this unless you return the car to America.

yeah remember its all KMs up here and specs are different (such as DRLs

If you are returning it every car i have ever rented here has said unlimited use in BC and Washington so i can't see it being a problem the other way around.

I did the opposite, hired a car from Hertz in Canada and took it over the boarder to America. Returned it back to Canada at the end of the holiday.

We hired a car from New York and drove to Canada which they were fine with but we returned the car to the same place in New York as that is where the return flight was.

It was through Dollar rent a car (or something like that), we've always found them to be the cheapest on longer holidays, but that is with the bigger sized cars... not sure how their prices compete with the other ranges. Actually come to think of it, we hire with Dollar whenever we go to San Fran or to Florida as well and have never had any hassle.

Maybe so but it's hard to hire a car from the States when you land in Toronto!
