Ive just ordered some Geil value ram 1GB (2x 512mb) ddr400 CAS 2.5 (from ocuk of course)

The ram I have in now is ELIXIR 1GB (2x 512mb) CAS 3 in dual channel mode (slot 1 and 3)... Will the geil run stable with this ram aswell ?

so id have elixir in slots 1 and 3
and geil in slots 2 and 4

    thanks

it should be ok. if you mix sticks it will all default to the SPD of the ram with the slackest timings. :)

Run the elixir at CAS 2.5 and do a sp2004 blend stress test for 8hrs to check stability

or make a bootable Memtest86 cd and run for a few loops

Yeh its fine, been used on 3 motherboards now.

I can only overclock it to like 425mhz though, as its just normal cheap branded ram.

Just buy Corsair Value select, probably better for around the same money. I think OCuk value ram is Elixir - it shows a pic of it.
