Catastrophic failure

    Things just went very bad. Base unit wont boot up, no POST screen even.

    Took out all the ram, disconnected all the drives, and it still wont boot. Power supply is ok, led on mobo lights. From my understanding, if mobo and CPU are functional, it will beep like crazy, i dont get anything....

    Question is, how likely is it that the mobo has died, or is a CPU failure more likely?

    Catastrophic failure is when it explodes, calm down!

    Have you tried clearing the CMOS?

    Tried 1 stick of RAM in a different slot?

    Tried taking out the GPU and reseating it.

    Yea, tried both... GPU is on the floor and it still wont beep....

    WRT catastrophic, yes i agree i was a tad overly dramatic..... :D
