I want to build a new PC for my son as his current pc is +- 10 years old (i5 750, HD 7850) so I’m just in the early planning stage. It’s main use will be Halo, hopefully it’s released before Christmas :p and maybe Modern warfare as well if he wants it.

I don’t need the most expensive components as we won’t be overclocking it and I want to keep costs down a bit if I can. I was tempted to go for a 5700xt for around 100 more than the 1660ti but not sure if it will be overkill for halo? Am planning on getting a 24” 1080p 144hz monitor.

Is there any new stuff coming out before Christmas I should be aware of that I should wait for?

Here’s a quick spec I did -

Hmm a ryzen 3500 paired with a 5500 xt might be pretty decent for a mid range gaming pc. Amd say the 5500 is a 60 fps + aaa title card and a 90 fps + e-sports card @ 1080p which would be fine.
